Six months before his death, Jimmy’s wish was that he wanted to find a way of putting something back into football. Through discussions with close friend John Clifford they thought they would try and find a way to help football clubs and under privileged teams. Subsequent discussions with John, Rab McLuckie and the Lisbon Lions, they tried to help Jinky achieve his dream. That dream has become a reality. The Jinky Johnston Trust was launched on the 19th April 2006 at the Estadio National, Lisbon. Jinkys favourite football ground. Jinkys Legacy It was Jinky’s wish that he would leave a legacy to help deserving causes, to quote his own words ‘Find the new me’. The Jinky Johnstone Trust will provide 67 sets of football kits completely FREE. Each kit will be provided in the teams own colours. Clubs are asked to apply to us and list a valid reason to why their club should benefit for a free set of strips.
